This May 1, app workers around the world stood up for fair pay, protections, and dignity—and so did our members. We want to give a big thank you to all the Independent Drivers Guild members who continue to fight back every day. From New Jersey to New York, Rhode Island, to Illinois, IDG members stood up for the treatment and pay drivers deserve. Whether you showed up at a rally, spoke out at a hearing, or organized with fellow drivers, your actions are building a stronger voice for all of us. The fight for fair pay and respect on the job is global—and thanks to you, it’s powerful here at home.

We’re Still Fighting for Fair Pay – NYC Pay Update

Over the past decade, NY drivers have proven the power of organizing—fighting for fair pay, job protections, and respect. While we’ve made progress, the system is still broken. Drivers face low wages and rising costs, and the fight isn’t over. After pressure from the Guild and thousands of drivers, the TLC has proposed a pay raise of more than 6%. That’s a strong start, and we’re pushing them to move fast to finalize it. We’re also continuing to meet with city officials, demand policy changes, and take action—because driver power is growing, and we’re not backing down.

What Memorial Day Means to The Independent Drivers Guild

This Memorial Day, the Independent Drivers Guild honors the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are especially proud to stand with the many drivers in our community who are military veterans. Their dedication to service—both in uniform and on the road—inspires us every day. As we remember those we’ve lost, we also recognize and thank our veteran drivers for their continued commitment to their families, their communities, and their fellow drivers.
